In the wide range of Piedmontese wines, a prominent product is Moscato d'Asti DOCG, a sweet white wine that represents a flagship of Piedmontese viticulture, because it is unique and inimitable.
Produced solely in the hills of southern Piedmont, it covers an area of 51 municipalities in the provinces of Asti, Cuneo and Alessandria. Moscato d'Asti DOCG is obtained from the processing of only Moscato Bianco grapes through careful vinification that must keep intact the very rich aromatic heritage already present in the grapes.
Typical characteristics of the wine are the fruity notes (yellow peach and apricot), the musky aroma deriving from the grapes and the hints of lime, wisteria and orange, the bright straw yellow color with golden reflections, the fine and persistent foam, the sweet taste , fresh and slightly effervescent.
Classic dessert wine goes well with fresh and dry pastries, Christmas and Easter cakes or fresh fruit but is also an excellent base for aperitifs and cocktails and also goes well with savory and spicy dishes. Thanks to the low alcohol content, usually around 5.5% vol., and served in a cup at a cold temperature, between 8 - 10 °, it splendidly accompanies all meals and moments of celebration. Azienda
